Prof. Eng. PhD Marco Casini is an esteemed academic and expert in green and smart building technologies. He is an Associate Professor in the Technology of Architecture at Sapienza University of Rome, where he has been teaching since 2002. His courses cover energy and environmental sustainability in buildings across various master’s and PhD programs. Since 2022, he has also served as the General Secretary of the Basin District Authority of Central Apennines, overseeing hydrogeological risk management and the sustainable use of land in central Italy. Prof. Casini's research focuses on sustainable architectural design, advanced materials, and smart city technologies. He has led several major projects, including the development of Italy's national certification system for environmentally sustainable buildings. A prolific author, he has written over 80 publications, including books such as Smart Buildings (2016) and Construction 4.0 (2022). He is also the Editor-in-Chief of the scientific journal Ponte and a keynote speaker at international conferences.
